Central to our philosophy is the development of children who are well equipped for the future. At St Mary's and St Peter's we are concerned about the whole child and the whole of our curriculum is geared to develop confident young people. We pride ourselves on our caring community and the relationships that we have with children and their families.
We have high academic standards and the school has received three successive School Achievement Awards from the Government. These were in recognition of our excellence in English, Mathematics and Science. We have recently been given a prestigious national award by the Arts Council for England and Wales. We are extremely proud of our Artsmark Gold Awards, for excellence in the arts and our Activemark Gold Award for excellence in sports. In 2004, we were awarded Investors in People status for our commitment to the whole school community. |
St. Mary's and St. Peter's gives children the chance to do their personal best. We provide a broad, balanced and enriching curriculum. We put our successes down to the way we work in partnership with parents and the local community to provide the best possible education for our children. We work with each child individually to ensure that they achieve their fullest potential.
St. Mary's and St Peter's is a school for the local community. We have strong links with our two sponsoring parishes, St Mary's with St Alban's and St Peter and St Paul. We have many other links with community groups. We value the involvement of parents in the school and have an active Parent's Association "The Friends", who do a tremendous job for the school. We have a dedicated and involved Governing Body who works extremely hard within the school.
